Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Luis Ortiz PPV price: How much does it cost to watch the 2022 boxing fight?

Heavyweights will do battle on September 4, as Andy Ruiz Jr. and Luis Ortiz face off. The fight between the two will take place inside Los Angeles’ Arena.

Ruiz made his pro debut in 2009. After failing to win the WBO heavyweight title in 2016 against Joseph Parker, Ruiz received an opportunity he will never forget. Failing multiple drug tests, Jarrell Miller was removed from his heavyweight title showdown against Anthony Joshua in 2019. Ruiz ended up replacing him.

Inside Madison Square Garden, Ruiz beat Joshua for the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles in what was considered the biggest upset in boxing history. The victory was short-lived, however, as Ruiz lost the titles in a rematch against Joshua that year. He returned to action in May 2021, beating Chris Arreola.

Ortiz made his pro debut in 2010. In 2018, Ortiz faced Deontay Wilder for the WBC heavyweight title. Controlling the fight early on, Ortiz suffered his first loss via tenth-round TKO.

The 43-year-old won three in a row before facing Wilder again for the title in 2019. Just like last time, Ortiz looked good in the beginning. He then lost via knockout in the seventh round. He has since won two in a row, beating Charles Martin in January via TKO.
